The basic model
Two currencies, free entry routes, prizes only after verification: the model in one page.
- Two currencies: one for play, one that can become a prize.
- A free entry route must exist; packages are optional purchases.
- A prize is paid only after identity verification and a minimum balance.
A US sweepstakes casino sells packages of a play currency and gives away a promotional currency alongside them. Play with the first is entertainment only. Wins in the second can be redeemed for prizes once the account is verified and a published minimum is reached. Because the promotional currency is a sweepstakes entry, the operator also publishes a way to get it without buying anything.
Example. Crown Coins lists a welcome bonus of 100,000 Crown Coins and 2 Sweeps Coins credited on registration, before any purchase (Help Center article checked October 15, 2026). Our tester then bought the $1.99 coin package (40,000 Crown Coins) on September 3, 2026. The signup and purchase are described in the review.
Conditions. The rules that govern each step live in three operator documents: the Terms, a sweepstakes rules document (called Sweeps Rules, Promotional Play Rules or Official Rules depending on the operator) and, where one exists, a help center. Each of the sections below quotes the document it relies on.
Sources. The Crown Coins Help Center is the operator document TrueSweeps read at the greatest depth: 55 of 104 articles captured on September 4, 2026, several re-read on September 20, 2026. The LoneStar and RealPrize Promotional Play Rules, the High 5 Official Rules and the FreeSpin Sweeps Rules were read on the dates given in the free entry section. Whether this model is lawful in your state is a question for your state's law; TrueSweeps records what operators publish and what regulators have written, on the state index and in the dated records, and does not answer it.
Sessions. Four first-hand sessions stand behind the examples in this guide, one tester and one session each: Crown Coins on September 3, 2026 (mobile website in iPhone Safari), FreeSpin on September 4, 2026 (mobile website first, then desktop Chrome), LoneStar on September 14, 2026 (desktop browser, one tester, one evening session), and an unscored Stake.us session on September 14, 2026 (desktop website) that stopped at the pre-play identity check. No redemption was requested or completed in any of them and no postal entry was sent, so every redemption, verification and free-entry rule below is the operator's published text or a dated third-party record, never a TrueSweeps result.
Gold Coins vs Sweeps Coins
The play currency and the promotional currency, what each can do, and what expires.
Every tracked operator runs two balances. The play currency (Gold Coins at most operators, Crown Coins at Crown Coins, Game Coins at High 5) is bought in packages or given away and can never be redeemed. The promotional currency (Sweeps Coins, or Sweep Coins at LoneStar and RealPrize) comes free with packages, bonuses and free entry routes; winnings from it may be redeemed after verification. The two are never converted into each other.
- Play currency
- Bought in packages or received free. Cannot be redeemed.Crown Coins Help Center, "What's Crown Coins (CC)", captured September 4, 2026.
- Promotional currency
- Free with packages, bonuses and free entry routes. Winnings may be redeemed after verification.Crown Coins Help Center, "What's Sweeps Coins (SC)", article dated March 3, 2026, captured September 4, 2026 and re-read September 20, 2026.
- Redeemable vs balance
- Some operators distinguish the coins in the account from the coins that count toward a redemption.Crown Coins: SC count as redeemable only once played through eligible games; at least 50 redeemable SC are needed (Help Center, captured September 4, 2026).
- Expiry
- Promotional coins can expire after inactivity.Crown Coins: 60 days after the last login; a login resets the clock (Help Center, captured September 4, 2026).
Example. A package advertised as a million play coins plus a few dozen Sweeps Coins is a purchase of the first with the second attached. The offer tracker splits every listed package into its two parts, and the games index records which games each operator lists, as counted on the operator's own pages.
Conditions. The Crown Coins rules above are Crown Coins rules. LoneStar and RealPrize publish their own coin definitions in their Promotional Play Rules, and FreeSpin in its Sweeps Rules; those documents are cited in the free entry section. Read the definition in the document served to you before assuming a figure carries over between operators.

Purchases
Coin packages are purchases, not deposits: what that means for refunds, chargebacks and prompts.
- A coin package is a purchase, not a deposit: there is no balance to withdraw.
- Refunds and chargebacks are restricted by the terms we read.
- Purchase prompts can be frequent; set a budget before the first package.
Buying a package is a retail purchase of play currency. It is not a deposit into an account that can be withdrawn, and the promotional coins that come with it are a free bonus rather than something bought. The Crown Coins Terms of Service served on September 4, 2026 say purchases are final and are not deposits, and list chargebacks among the reasons an account can be closed. Treat any package as spent the moment you buy it.
What we observed
Our tester bought the $1.99 coin package (40,000 Crown Coins) by card and the lobby balance updated within seconds. Minutes later a Keep Playing pop-up and a timed Welcome Deal appeared, and the prompts kept coming during play with no setting to quiet them. Full purchase account in the review.
Conditions. Spending limits exist at some operators but may only be available on request. The Crown Coins Help Center, captured September 4, 2026, describes daily, weekly and monthly purchase limits with a 48-hour wait before an increase, requested through support; none of those tools appeared in the account menus during our September 3, 2026 session. TrueSweeps keeps a separate responsible play page with national helplines.

Redemptions
Minimums, methods, approval windows and caps, as the operators publish them.
Full guide: the redemption and verification checklist, operator by operator
A redemption turns eligible promotional-coin winnings into a prize: a bank transfer, an e-wallet payment or a gift card, depending on the operator. Most operators publish a minimum, the methods they pay by, an approval window and sometimes caps by state or method. One tracked operator, Stake.us, publishes no minimum and reserves the right to set one (Terms and Conditions, version 18.0 dated July 10, 2026, clause 13.3(a), read September 14, 2026). TrueSweeps has not completed a redemption in any test, so everything in this section is a published rule or a dated record.
- Crown Coins
- 50 SC cash or gift cardCovers market check, Aug 28, 2026; the Help Center captured September 4, 2026 gives the same 50 redeemable SC figure.
- FreeSpin
- 100 SC for prizesOfficial Sweeps Rules, Sep 20, 2026.
- LoneStar
- 45 SC gift card / 100 SC cashOfficial Terms of Use, Sep 20, 2026.
- RealPrize
- $45 gift card / $100 cashOfficial Promotional Play Rules, Sep 20, 2026.
Not confirmed as a figure. For 4 tracked operators the checked source gave no single minimum; the record reads as follows and is not a figure to rely on:
- Stake.us: Not published; the operator reserves the right to set one (Terms 13.3(a)) (Official Terms, Sep 14, 2026).
- McLuck: Confirm in account (Official homepage, Sep 20, 2026).
- WOW Vegas: Confirm redemption method (Official promo page, Sep 20, 2026).
- High 5 Casino: $50 to $100 depending on method (Official promotion, Sep 20, 2026).
Example. Crown Coins publishes its process in its Help Center: approval within 24 to 72 hours and up to 7 days, then an instant bank transfer or ACH in 1 to 5 business days, Skrill in 1 to 3, or a prepaid virtual card by email straight after approval; no operator fees; a request can be cancelled until it is approved (Redemption FAQs, article dated June 25, 2026, captured September 4, 2026, re-read September 20, 2026). The same capture recorded $5,000 caps per request in New York and Florida and no redemption to a personal credit card.
Conditions. Instant bank transfer is not offered to Tennessee or California players and Skrill is not offered in California, per the same article. LoneStar's rules promise no ordinary processing time and reserve the right to pay $2,500 or more in instalments (Promotional Play Rules 9.19, Version 1.8, saved copy read September 14, 2026; review).
What players report
In the Crown Coins sample, 38 of 88 positive reviews described a fast or successful redemption, 22 of 90 negative reviews described a delay and 9 alleged an unsuccessful, withheld or forfeited redemption. Both can be true of the same operator. Sample method and every theme.
Sources. Crown Coins Help Center: Redemption FAQs. Which operators have a redemption on record and which do not is on the reviews hub; the weight redemption evidence carries in a score is on the methodology page.
KYC and account verification
Identity, address and source-of-funds checks before a prize is paid.
- Verification sits between a win and a prize, not at signup.
- Expect a government ID, a recent proof of address and, at some operators, a selfie.
- Read the privacy policy before uploading: verification data can be shared with third-party providers.
Know-your-customer checks are how an operator confirms the person redeeming is the account holder, is old enough and lives where they said. At the operators TrueSweeps has read, the check comes before a redemption rather than before play.
Example. In our Crown Coins session on September 3, 2026 no document was requested at signup or at purchase; the redemption screen listed government-issued ID and proof of address separately. At Stake.us the document gate came before any play in the September 14, 2026 onboarding test, including free Gold Coin play (limited test).
Conditions. The Crown Coins Help Center, captured September 4, 2026, adds a liveness selfie inside the flow, accepts a passport, driver's licence, state or national ID or permanent-resident card (the physical card, no temporary IDs), and wants a utility bill, bank or card statement or mobile bill from the last three months with the full name and address, no P.O. boxes. A bank statement or payslip can be requested as source of funds. LoneStar's Promotional Play Rules 9.12 to 9.14 (Version 1.8, saved copy read September 14, 2026) add, on request, an eligibility affidavit, a publicity release and tax forms within thirty days.
Sources. Crown Coins Help Center: How do I verify my account and Documents required for verification, captured September 4, 2026. The Crown Coins Privacy Policy (v2.1 served Sept 4; v3.0 read Sept 24, 2026) says verification data, including bank statements, can be shared with external document-verification and financial-crime-prevention providers.
Payment methods
Cards, wallets, bank transfer and cash: which routes appeared, and which were excluded where.
Payment methods differ on the way in and the way out. Packages are bought with cards, wallets, bank payments or cash; prizes are paid by bank transfer, e-wallet or prepaid card. The routes below are the ones recorded on a dated source; an operator can add or remove one at any time.
- Cards and wallets
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express; Apple Pay, Google Pay; Skrill.Crown Coins Help Center, captured September 4, 2026; Skrill not offered in California.
- Cash
- PayNearMe at 7-Eleven, CVS, Walgreens and Family Dollar.Crown Coins Help Center, captured September 4, 2026; payment sessions expire after two hours.
- Bank
- Pay by Bank at checkout; instant bank transfer or ACH for redemptions to supported US banks.Crown Coins checkout observed September 3, 2026; Help Center captured September 4, 2026 (instant bank transfer not offered in Tennessee or California).
- Crypto
- Crypto or fiat at one tracked operator, locked to whichever method bought the coins until the Stake Cash balance is zero.Stake.us Terms and Conditions, version 18.0 dated July 10, 2026, clause 7.3(c), read September 14, 2026; not tested.
Conditions. The payment method must be legally and beneficially owned by the player, and using someone else's can suspend the account, per the Crown Coins Help Center captured September 4, 2026. Fintech and peer-to-peer accounts (PayPal, Cash App, Venmo) were listed as unsupported for redemptions there.

AMOE and no-purchase entry
Why a sweepstakes needs a free entry route, and where to find each operator's rules.
- AMOE is the free way to get Sweeps Coins, so a purchase is never the only route into the sweepstakes.
- Each operator's rules document names its own free routes; open it and check that it loads.
- None of these routes was tested by TrueSweeps; they are read from the rules, with the day each was read.
Full guide: each operator's mail-in rules, dated, with the crediting times most leave unstated
AMOE stands for alternative method of entry: the free way to obtain the promotional currency that makes a sweepstakes a sweepstakes. In the rules documents TrueSweeps has read it takes the same shape everywhere: a registration or welcome bonus, a daily login bonus, social-media giveaways, promotional coins attached to marked packages, and a handwritten postal request. The full conditions live in the operator's sweepstakes rules, and the section is only as good as the document you can actually open.
Example. Crown Coins lists a welcome bonus of 100,000 Crown Coins and 2 Sweeps Coins credited on registration, before any purchase (Help Center article checked October 15, 2026). That is a free route: no purchase was needed for either coin type.
Conditions of the postal route. LoneStar and RealPrize require an unfolded, blank, unlined 4 by 6 inch card or white paper, handwritten in blue ink (typed or printed text is not accepted), carrying the full name as shown on government ID and matching the username, the registered email and residential address, the time and date of writing and a set declaration; LoneStar's review records crediting up to 20 days after receipt. High 5 wants a 4 by 6 Request Card inside a standard white unfolded #10 envelope posted from the same state as the verified residential address, with the return address on the front and a Mail-In Code from the logged-in account on the back. FreeSpin credits one Sweeps Coin per request by a verified user. None of these routes was tested by TrueSweeps.
- LoneStar Casino: Promotional Play Rules, Version 1.8 (August 21, 2026), clause 7.1, live page read September 20, 2026. Routes listed: a registration bonus for logging in within three days, a daily bonus, social-media giveaways, a bonus with marked Gold Coin packages, promotions, and a postal request (clause 7.1.7). Review.
- RealPrize: Promotional Play Rules, Version 3.1 (August 21, 2026), clause 7.1, live page read September 20, 2026. Routes listed: the same six routes as LoneStar, in the same wording, including a postal request (clause 7.1.7).
- High 5 Casino: Sweepstakes Official Rules, Version 43.0 (June 26, 2026), clause 6.2, live page read September 20, 2026. Routes listed: a daily bonus, a bonus with marked Game Coin packs, no-cost giveaways and a mail-in Request Card (clause 6.2.4).
- FreeSpin: FreeSpin Sweeps Rules 3.2 IV, Version 3.2, clause 3.2, read September 6, 2026; a re-read on October 15, 2026 failed (freespin.com/sweeps-rules answered with a restricted-country page from the checking location, as on September 19, 2026). Routes listed: a reward with marked Gold Coin purchases, Facebook giveaways, a daily login gift and a postal request that yields one Sweeps Coin per request (clause 3.2 IV). Review.
- Crown Coins: Help Center, What's Sweeps Coins (article dated March 3, 2026, captured September 4, 2026, re-read September 20, 2026) names mail-in entries and social-media contests and refers to a Sweepstakes Policy. The Sweeps Policy page returned not found on September 4, 2026 and rendered only the site name on September 20, 2026, so its mail-in conditions remain unread. Review.
- Stake.us, McLuck, WOW Vegas: no free entry clause is on record. The Stake.us Terms could not be re-opened on September 19 or 20, 2026 (the site answered with a bot challenge), the McLuck Terms page rendered no text on September 20, 2026, and the WOW Vegas Terms and Conditions (Version 9.0, read September 20, 2026) do not set out the entry routes.
Before relying on any free route, open the operator's rules document and check that it loads, that it names your state, and that it describes the entry method you plan to use. The offer tracker lists which checked sources describe a no-purchase route, and the state index shows each operator's own exclusion list.
Safety checks before you buy
Six things to read before the first package: terms, operator, state list, redemption rules, records, limits.
- Before a first package, read the Terms you are served, find the operator behind the brand and check the exclusion list for your state.
- A state absent from a list is not a statement that play is lawful there.
- Purchases are spending, not investing: set a limit first.
- Read the Terms you are actually served. At Crown Coins the site named Sunflower Limited on September 3, 2026, while the Terms served on September 4 named EMZE LLC and described a California-only social offering. Ask which version applies to you.
- Find the operator behind the brand. The company name, its address and its payment processor should match across the site, the terms and the store receipt. FreeSpin's pages named no incorporated entity at all when read for its review.
- Check the exclusion list for your state. A state absent from a list is not a statement that play is lawful there; a regulator letter for your state is a reason to stop and read it. State index.
- Read the redemption rules before the first package. Minimum, methods, approval window, caps and the documents required, as set out above.
- Look at the public record. Regulator letters, court dockets and Better Business Bureau profiles are public documents you can read yourself. Records we hold.
- Set a limit first. Purchases are spending, not investing. Our responsible play page lists free, confidential help.
This checklist is the reader-facing version of the seven inputs behind every TrueSweeps score; the weights and publication gates are on the methodology page, and the hands-on tests behind them are on the reviews hub.

The version served on September 4, 2026 (v3.0) had described a California-only social offering by EMZE LLC.

CourtListener docketRead more
A regulator letter is a regulatory position, not a court judgment. A dismissed complaint is neither a finding for nor against an operator. TrueSweeps adds a record only with a public source and a date, and logs corrections under its corrections policy.
State pages with their own records: California, New York, Maryland, Maine, Tennessee, Indiana. Each is a reading of the operators' own documents, not legal advice.
Glossary
The terms used across TrueSweeps, each defined once with a stable anchor and links to where the rule is applied.
Each entry states the general model only. An operator's own figure or rule lives on that operator's page with its source and read date, which is where the links in each entry lead.
- AMOE (alternative method of entry)
- The free way to obtain the promotional currency, which makes a sweepstakes a sweepstakes. In the rules TrueSweeps has read it takes the form of registration and daily bonuses, giveaways, coins attached to marked packages and a handwritten postal request. Also: alternative method of entry, mail-in entry, postal request, free entry route, no purchase necessary. See free entry routes by operator and no-purchase offers as listed.
- Current record vs historical reading
- A review keeps what its sources said on the test date, labeled with that date, and logs later changes in its change history. The state index and the directory show the latest dated read. Neither reading is re-dated.Also: historical reading, current record, test-date reading. See the current state record and a review change history.
- Gold Coins (play currency)
- The currency bought in packages or received free, used for play only; it is never redeemed for a prize. The name varies by operator: Gold Coins at most operators, Crown Coins at Crown Coins, Game Coins at High 5.Also: GC, play currency, Game Coins. See the two currencies.
- Hands-on test
- A documented session by one tester on a dated day, its captures redacted and dated. Only a completed hands-on test carries a score; no hands-on test so far has completed a redemption, and every page says so.Also: paid test, tested, scored review, hands-on. See the hands-on tests and how a score is built.
- Limited test (unscored)
- A session that stopped before play, published without a score and labeled as such. The Stake.us test is one: it ended at the pre-play identity check, so its page records what happened up to that point and nothing further. Also: unscored, limited, onboarding test. See the Stake.us limited test and partially checked and untested.
- Market check (record)
- A record built from an operator's published pages and third-party listings on a dated read, with no session behind it. It carries no score and names the source and read date; the directory shows one for each untested operator. Also: market record, untested, checked, directory record. See the directory and untested operators.
- Operator identity
- The brand on a site and the company behind it are recorded separately from the operator's own documents. Stake.us and Stake.com are separate legal entities: Stake.us is operated by Sweepsteaks Limited, registered in Cyprus, per its own Terms. Also: operator, legal entity, who runs the site, brand vs company. See operators and ownership and Stake.us brand context.
- Redeemable balance
- The part of a promotional-coin balance that counts toward a redemption. Some operators count coins as redeemable only after they have been played through eligible games, so the balance shown and the amount that can be redeemed can differ. Also: redeemable, redeemable SC, played through. See the two currencies and redemption minimums.
- Not the same as a social-only state. At FreeSpin, Social Mode is the state of one account: support described the tester's account that way and said its Gold Coins could not be redeemed. The term is the operator's own. Also: social mode account, FreeSpin Social Mode. See the FreeSpin account and the state index status.
- A status on the state index: the operator's own list offers no Sweeps Coins play in that state, social mode only per the operator. It describes the list on the day it was read, not whether play is lawful there. Also: social only, social mode only, social-only state. See social-only states and each operator's list.
- Source class
- Each figure names where it came from: an operator document (terms, sweepstakes rules, help center), a third-party listing, or a TrueSweeps session, with the day it was read. A figure the source did not publish stays not published. Also: source label, operator document, third-party listing, help center. See the methodology and how a page gets made.
- Sweeps Coins (promotional currency)
- The promotional currency and the sweepstakes entry. It comes free with packages, bonuses and free entry routes; winnings from it may be redeemed after verification. LoneStar and RealPrize write Sweep Coins; Stake.us uses Stake Cash. Also: SC, Sweep Coins, Stake Cash, promotional currency, sweepstakes entry. See the two currencies and redemptions.
- Verification (KYC)
- The check that confirms the account holder's identity, age and address. At most operators whose documents TrueSweeps has read it comes before a redemption; the Stake.us Terms place it before any play, and the limited test met it there. Also: KYC, know your customer, identity check, ID check, document check. See documents operators ask for and the pre-play check at Stake.us.
